Average daytime winter temperatures in Anchorage range from +5 to +30 F (-15 to -1 C). Average January low and high temperatures at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport are 9 F / 22 F (-13 C/-5 C) with an average winter snowfall of 70 inches (179 cm).
The Hotel Captain Cook will host daytime events, including registration, plenary sessions and workshops. The Dena'ina Center will host the two evening poster sessions and exhibits.

The Hotel Captain Cook (dark gold buildings at right) is located 5.5 miles from Anchorage International Airport (see map) in downtown Anchorage. The hotel's 547 guest rooms and suites offer a view of Cook Inlet or the Chugach Mountains. On a clear day one may see Cook Inlet, the Chugach Mountains, and Denali (Mt. McKinley).
